Follow-up Comment #3:

Confirmed on Linux as well.  The errorbar command is the proximate cause of
the problem.  The last command can be anything, not just ylabel.  I tried
'clf' and that also hung the interpreter.

The issue seems to be that x is empty (0x1 empty matrix).  When I exit Octave
I get this warning


line 0: warning: Skipping data file with no valid points


Interestingly, I get a different error if I define x as a 0x0 empty matrix.

errorbar(x,x,x,'.b;test;');

    __errplot__ at line 51 column 25
    errorbar at line 181 column 10
