Follow-up Comment #22, bug #45816 (project octave): @Mike: My feeling from reading the cygwin docs (a.o. the stanzas quoted below in comment #20) is that your recommendation would especially apply to cygwin. On Windows itself it isn't all that bad, provided Octave core functions that handle file paths invoke proper fileseps.
