Follow-up Comment #9, bug #45865 (project octave):
Well it seems that the particular combination of HW and SW is not going to
work on your computer. If you are running Windows 7, you could try the
Windows version of Octave (http://www.gnu.org/software/octave/download.html)
rather than the Linux version running on Cygwin. Or you could just use
gnuplot.
