Pantxo: I installed your patch, but sorry to say I get:

>> graphics_toolkit('qt')
>> plot(1:2000)
>> panic: Segmentation fault -- stopping myself...
attempting to save variables to 'octave-workspace'...
save to 'octave-workspace' complete
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
If I wait until Figure is drawn all is OK.
