Follow-up Comment #8, bug #45951 (project octave): That looks good to me. Maybe just add a try-catch for the ClassNotFoundException with a better error message for the user: "xmlread: unable to load Xerces XML parser" or something like that and call it done. To what extent do you think Octave should be able to provide/detect/find/install the Xerces library?
