Follow-up Comment #69, bug #31468 (project octave):
This looks like a good improvment. I particularly like the superscripts on
the log axis ticks.
As you are polishing up the changeset I would look at a few things:
1) There appears to be a blank tesselation triangle obscuring some of the
Greek letters. This may be a bug with my version of gl2ps (1.3.6-1). I've
attached an image of it so you can see what I mean.
2) There seems to be extra space in the output around the italicized and
bolded text. I tried moving the space outside the italics declaration as
shown below, but it didn't help.

3) I think eventually we would like to stay within the fontname chosen even
for TeX symbols, rather than switching over to Symbol. Right now I believe we
do that and issue a warning when the fontset does not include the proper
glyph. On the other hand, Matlab always switches over to Symbol as far as I
can tell so we will at least be compatible.
