Hmmm, I get this (with octave-4.0.0 in Win7 64bit):

error: for A^b, A must be a square matrix. Use .^ for elementwise power.

Trying with ".^" goes better and the plot command just works then with gnuplot
and Qr, the plot appears in < 1 second for gnuplot.
