Follow-up Comment #10, bug #46281 (project octave):

I attached the .m file as requested in comment #8. FWIW my configure options
are 


../octaveclone/configure \
--prefix=/home/pantxo/dev/octavebuild/local \
--with-java-homedir=/usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk-amd64 \
CXXFLAGS="-g -O0" \
--enable-bounds-check


so I have debug symbols and bound-check enabled.
