Details:

The build system has code to generate dummy images when either the sparse or
Qhull package is absent.  However, that code fails, causing the build to
fail.

The problem is that the  outfile  variable is not set.  That is fixed in the
attached changeset.

(As Rik mentioned on another post, this is low priority since it only affects
people who have edited the code, but the fix is simple.)
