Thanks for your kind words, for going through the algos and for
the work you put in. Yeah, it was fun devising them :)

I browsed through your patch, and agree with your changes. Thanks. I had
initially thought of not introducing a third argument in order to keep
compatibility with any future matlab changes, but come to think of it, that
way is indeed cleaner.
