Follow-up Comment #7, bug #46661 (project octave):

I disabled Ctrl+D in my .inputrc file (for Readline) with 


"\C-d": ""


But this still doesn't work if Ctrl+D is the first character you type on a
blank line.  As Mike says, this seems to be related to the Terminal itself.
