Follow-up Comment #3, bug #46723 (project octave):
It seems that Qt uses a style with larger icons for the dock-widget compared
to the main-window. The toolbar icons have correct size, the close/dock
buttons not, both are based on Qt::PM_SmallIconSize from the related style.
The larger style in the widgets are also reflected by the quite large folder
icons in the file browser.
Could you please try the attached patch that uses the style from the
main-window for the close/dock buttons of the widgets?
