Follow-up Comment #10, bug #46795 (project octave):

Thanks for the discussions.  I've found a couple of bugs in the gui part
(clicking on a yellow marker doesn't clear it, and "find next" only finds the
next if there is an unconditional breakpoint after it).

I'll post a revised patch, but want to track down the save-on-close issue
first.  (Torsten, you said you'd look into it; let me know if I'd be treading
on your toes...)
