Follow-up Comment #1, bug #47042 (project octave):

Try adding


#include "gripes.h"


to the top of 


cl2bp.cc
sosfilt.cc
upfirdn.cc


That should work.  Probably for the dev branch of-signal needs to be
re-written to use "err_wrong_type_arg".
