Follow-up Comment #79, bug #46795 (project octave):

OK, it is this changeset by Torsten:

e8c3590da9ff "update directory in gui after add-path/change-dir dialog" (from
29 Jan 2016)

that provokes the crashes with LMB in the editor on Windows for files in the
editor that are not in the search path.
Could have to do with the fact that the search path is scoured for the
function in question.

fixed. I have no idea why it works well on Linux but crashes hard on Windows
(even w/o the Windows pop-up, Octave simply disappears).

So, changes are that Lachlan's dbstop fixes work well after all .... ?

I could try a build with just this offending cset backed out. It's only bits
and bytes that can break...
