Follow-up Comment #28, bug #31080 (project octave):
We already have a reshash function, but all it does is traverse the
directories in the path and look for modification times that are newer than
the last timestamp the directory was scanned. This is still failing on Windows
in this situation. Adding a way to do some kind of "force rehash" is a
sledgehammer that might work around this, but I still think the root issue is
something quirky with the way Windows filesystems are working with Octave.
