Follow-up Comment #74, bug #44478 (project octave):

That agrees with the backtrace in the original post and followup comments, so
no change in that regard.

Just adding a note that the segfault occurs in building the plots for the
manual also, as reported in bug #45719 (now marked as a duplicate) and
reported multiple times on the mailing list.

Building Octave with --without-OSMesa should avoid most of this drama for
users of the proprietary nvidia toolkit, of course you will not be able to
print figures with the "visible" property set to "off" unless you use the
gnuplot toolkit.

See bug #44979 for a proposal to move the current configure detection of
OSMesa into a runtime detection (which would have to be further improved to
avoid the conflict with nvidia as reported in this bug).
