Follow-up Comment #116:

Good news / bad news.  I can now reproduce this error on Linux with the
development branch.  That should make it easier to debug.  But, it really
sucks that the bug is now multiple places.

Either of the two test cases fail in default, 4.0.2, and 4.0.1 for me now. 
Changing tho Operating System to "Any".
