Follow-up Comment #11, bug #47950 (project octave):

Oh, presumably because glob doesn't handle \ as a directory separator.

But then if it did handle \ as a directory separator, it won't work as an
escape character either.

So I don't see how to fix this other than using a different type of quoting.
