Follow-up Comment #19, bug #47950 (project octave):

I agree with comment #18.  I very much doubt that most Windows users even know
about the use of brackets to represent character classes.  I think we should
fix this in the simplest, most intuitive method possible.  For me, that would
be adding a rule to escape the brackets so that a '[' is always a literal
character on Windows platforms.
