Follow-up Comment #14, bug #47974 (project octave):
polar : #1 : a rectangular box is drawn around the entire plot
I haven't tested this thoroughly, but give the attached patch a try. Solving
this example seems to solve a lot of other demo problems regarding extra axes
and borders.
