Follow-up Comment #16, bug #47974 (project octave):

Ben, the patch from last night is generally correct, but I'm attaching a
slight tweak of that gets ride of the border (but not necessarily the tics) no
matter what since that seems to be handled by do_border_2d().

Before applying this, take a look at the demo:

    scripts/plot/appearance/axis.m example 9:

The title says "xaxislocation = zero, yaxislocation = zero".  Is gnuplot
toolkit correct?  Or is qt toolkit correct?
