Follow-up Comment #32, bug #47974 (project octave):

Rik, you've a couple demos in the list which indicate a hard crash on, I
assume, gnuplot's part.  I'm not seeing any of those.  This may be a GTK bug
in a particular version.  I've upgraded to Mint (Ubuntu base) which I think
now uses GTK-3 even though it is modified to look more like GTK-2.  Also, I've
been consistently running octave in the --no-gui mode so that the Qt plotting
freeze doesn't affect matters.
