Follow-up Comment #66, bug #37672 (project octave):

Yes, I think jwe's patch is better than what we have now, It works for me for
the subprocess example, doesn't break any of the other cases for me, assuming
OMP_NUM_THREADS=1. FIXME makes it clear we need some more work done to make
this better.

Incidentally, are braces required in this case where it's a single line of
code but multiple lines of comments?
