Follow-up Comment #5, bug #48363 (project octave):

I haven't been following jwe's changes closely, but he seems to have been
placing wrappers around gnulib functions so they are called as straight 'C'
functions, rather than having the C++ compiler use it's own choices.  Maybe
aske him if we can use that trick to access the gnulib replacement for frexp.
