Follow-up Comment #68, bug #44916 (project octave):

I got a package working that provided the basic opengl working, however it
only worked for windows and only for the Qt toolkit

Currently it creates a QGlWidget the same as the QT graphics toolskit does in
order to get the opengl info as it needs a opengl window to get the
information.

I think perhaps, that the toolkit needs to have some hooks into the opengl
rendering that can be used  to capture the information instead, but I hadn't
started looking into that as of yet. I can take a look if you want.

I hadn't yet looked at the osmesa info either, but probally the same issue
there
