Follow-up Comment #2, bug #48843 (project octave):
This same error has been previous reported as bug #47497, closed without a
resolution or a fix.
I think the error message referencing cygwin comes from the msys-1.0.dll
library, so I don't think this has to do with mixing environments.
If you turn off the pager with "more off", it should work. But calling the
pager should also work. Bug #47497 suggested that replacing msys-1.0.dll with
another version of the same library would fix the error, I don't know whether
that's a real fix or not.
