Follow-up Comment #72, bug #47974 (project octave):

@Dan: The patch works for me with 'wxt', 'qt', or 'x11' and gnuplot 5.0.1. 
When I try it with 'qt' and gnuplot 4.6.6 I find that there is no change and
that waterfall still has problems.  Is that expected?  Your patch is no worse
than the existing behavior, but it also doesn't fix the problem.  I can't try
'wxt' because I don't have it compiled in for 4.6.6.

Separately, when I try "x11" in 4.6.6 there appear to be no working
linestyles.  Is this a known problem with the x11 terminal?  I used 'demo line
1' and all the lines are solid.
