Follow-up Comment #14, bug #49118 (project octave):

A bisection is a possibility, but it will be quite slow.  There are a lot of
changesets between 4.0.3 and 4.2.0-rc2 and the test is interactive so it can't
be automated to have bisect run on its own.  It's probably 5 hours of effort.

On the other hand, Qt4.8, the last version of the Qt4 branch, was released in
2011.  It's worth moving to Qt5 in any case, and it would fix this bug.
