Follow-up Comment #31, bug #49223 (project octave):
gnuplot 4.4.0 evidently still uses the old conditional syntax. Give the
attached patch a try; it appears to work for me under 4.4.0 and 5.0+, but I
don't have Qt running in gnuplot 4.4.0. I also tried to get rid of the
extraneous
gnuplot> unset obj 1;
^
