Follow-up Comment #45, bug #49216 (project octave):
The font testing script posted by Dan in comment #38 works fine for me,
including with the Calibri font.
My testing platform is a Windows XP virtual machine. This doesn't have
HW-based acceleration which might be important for some reason. Is it
possible to switch to software rendering entirely and see if that helps?
