with the following edits (most of it style nitpicking, apologies):

0 Mützel => Muetzel as my mingw Mercurial doesn't want to accept umlauts

0 Indentation of function body contents
0 single => double quotes
0 fix texinfo typo (@var[...} => @var{...}) in tidyxml.m
0 first help sentence should just be one sentence explaining what the function
does. I/O arguments explanations come after an empty line

I'll leave this bug report open for a while; other interfaces may also suffer
from conversion problems.
