Follow-up Comment #4, bug #49509 (project octave): I have tested on WinXP with 4.2.0-rc3: test help -> fails system("chcp 850") test help -> passes 5/5 So we are on the right track! Compiling mxe-octave will take a while, maybe I'll have results this evening. Is there a (faster) way to test your "IsValidCodePage (65001)" command from within a running rc3 installation?
