Details:

I've downloaded Octave 4.2.0 from
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/octave/octave-4.2.0.tar.lz. I've compiled and checked
and all runs without errors, but I have a problem with the GUI: when I type
Ctrl+C in order to stop a script , Octave crashed and also the entire KDE
system. I receive the message

Could not start ksmserver. Check your installation

and the KDE session is closed. This error does not occur using octave-cli.

I'm using Debian Sid with its KDE and QT related packages
