Matlab R2016a:
>> xs = sparse ([1 0; 0 2]);
ys = sparse ([1 NaN; 0 0]);
xs .* ys
ans =
(1,1) 1
(1,2) NaN
Rik, I understand your suggestion may not be worse than the current status,
but it seems the memory issue does happen in Matlab.
