Follow-up Comment #4, bug #40557 (project octave):
I think this issue might be CLOSED now.
When I have a look at the Octave manual in version 4.2.0:
* The chapter "How to Distinguish Between Octave and Matlab" is now part of
"Appendix D Known Causes of Trouble". This seems reasonable to me.
* There is no FAQ chapter any more.
* The Java chapter (A.4) does not have a list of TeX symbols any more.
