Follow-up Comment #5, bug #49734 (project octave):

Thanks Markus. So now, Octave returns an error when position is < 0 and
creates a menu in the last position if position is 0 or > N (Matlab displays a
warning and do nothing). I'm OK with this behavior. The initial issue of
position being 0 when queried remains.
