Follow-up Comment #14, bug #49765 (project octave):

funnily enough, if I set some other variable in the cmdshell.bat file to
HOMEPATH,

say set VVV=%HOMEPATH%

when looking at the variables in bask, VVV is correct, but HOMEPATH is '\'
