Follow-up Comment #37, bug #49609 (project octave):

jwe - holding down Ctrl+C when a BLAS routine is being called, or when Octave
is idle at the prompt? I still can't get a crash by just starting Octave and
holding down Ctrl+C for several minutes at the prompt.

But ok, looks like the symptom here is the same as bug #47400, at least for
the why Octave is crashing part.

I have no idea why Octave crashing is causing certain desktop environments to
crash, and I still can't see how that is Octave's fault.
