Follow-up Comment #1:

Adding jwe to the CC list for this bug since his cset 22986:21707d6a02c7 seems
to be at the root of the new behavior.

@Kai: Does it work if you add "-fdefault-integer-8" to FFLAGS at the shell
before running configure?
