Follow-up Comment #3:

I use the QKeySequence::SelectAll in this cset
(http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/9cb69973997d).

After building the dev branch I had to go in to the Preferences and set the
shortcut to the default (which it now knows to be Ctrl+A).  Otherwise, on just
an upgrade Octave believes that the user purposefully chose no shortcut for
this menu option.

Marking as Ready for Test.
