Follow-up Comment #4, bug #46003 (project octave):
In my Linux PC (Linux Mint 18.1 Mate 64 bit + Octave 4.3.0+), same problem
appears on both of no-gui and gui mode. Typing "CTL+C" cause hangup (hangup
message is the tail of this comment). But, In my case I could avoid this
problem by typing "unset DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS" before starting up Octave.
( Sorry , Cause I don't know about the relationship between that environment
variable and Octave, It may cause other problem.)
