Details:

Welcome.
function xlswrite with interface 'com' output in both formats: xls and xlsx.
But an Excel don't open xlsx, send error "file corrupted".

with interface 'oct' in Windows: If variable contain Russian symbols, file is
outputed, but Excel don't may to read this. It may attempt to open, but it
view only some digits.

with interface 'oct' in Linux(Ubuntu) and LibreOffice: errors are absent. All
right and correct.

But in Windows xlswrite sometimes not output data in file. Instead Octave send
warnings listed below, and there are appear a strange folders and files:

_rels\
docProps\
xl\
[Content_Types].xml

When Octave's work directory is empty - all right. But, if no, for example, I
create 9 folders. You can open a file with xlswrite(...'oct') and don't get
output.
To view this bug, you can create a some amount folders, open m-file and run
it. From 1 to 10 attempts - bug will appear guaranted
