Follow-up Comment #13:
Ok, I see the same. I guess the Intel direct rendering has some problems that
are exposed by this combination of Qt 5 running under wayland.
Workarounds include LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1, using Xorg instead of Xwayland,
and compiling Octave with Qt 4 (works here at least).
