Follow-up Comment #14, bug #51830 (project octave): I created a quick test function grabbing parts of gnulib that might be useful to start with. If I run it without the initialization of winsock, I get the localhost in CLI, but the GUI is ok. If I run with winsock initialization, both work ok. File attached.
