Follow-up Comment #29, bug #38236 (project octave):
Weird, Markus' test script seems to always work for me if I use octave-cli and
only occasionally displays "100" when I use the GUI, (or "octave --no-gui",
which still uses Qt libraries).
I'll try some bisecting.
