Follow-up Comment #86, bug #48474 (project octave):

For octave 4.2.1 for windows, GNUTERM environmental variable is set to windows
in octave.vbs and octave.bat and then windows terminal is default. Note that
original distribution of 4.2.1, gnuplot is built with wxt terminals. If value
of GNUTERM is set to wxt.


For gnuolot 5.0.x source, if gnuplot is built with qt, qt terminal is set to
be default.  Package manager (I) use -DDEFAULTTERM=\"wxt\" to CFLAGS in
Makefile. For 5.2 source, there is no need to use  -DDEFAULTTERM=\"wxt\".
