Follow-up Comment #22, bug #49571 (project octave):

@John, Fink has a Qt5 package, but I was not able to get it to work. I suspect
the Fink guys will be able to ... assuming there is interest on their side.
fwiw, Homebrew looks to be gaining in popularity over Fink and MacPorts.

For convenience, I'm ok with the assumption that Qt>4.8 on macOS, but would
prefer to avoid decisions that prohibit a follow up change that adds support
for Qt 4.8.
