Follow-up Comment #52, bug #45659 (project octave):
@Mike: That was the issue. After installing libopenblas-dev, I see:
BLAS_LIBS='-lopenblas'
I am now waiting for make to finish.
Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to add a warning if we can detect a badly
configured system like Martin suggested.
