Follow-up Comment #21, bug #51950 (project octave):
There is a potential Google Summer of Code project to write an interface to
SPQR (https://wiki.octave.org/Summer_of_Code_Project_Ideas#SPQR_Interface).
This is the best long term solution.
There is no mentor for this project yet, and no guarantee that Octave will be
chosen as a GSOC awardee this year, or that a student will choose this
project. So, by all means this would be a good place to dive in.
